cspg | Dragon Models' sneak peek at their 1:400 ISS model(s), shown at the All Japan Model & Hobby Show. Apparently this model is made out of three models. |
Bill Hunt | Really looking forward to the "structure complete" version of this baby. |

I've asked Dragon for clarification, but I believe these are three separate models rather than sets that build upon each other. I think they are offering the opportunity to display the different stages in station assembly. |
Hart Sastrowardoyo | How about this model in 1/72 scale to match the other offerings? |

The short is answer is: they don't know... yet. The slightly longer answer: the ISS model(s) is/are still in development. As of this very moment, it may be possible to use the three sets to assemble the final space station configuration, and/or additional phase models may be released. |
alexbaja | A very highly detailed 1:144 ISS in 3 phases will greatly be appreciated. |
rmacd | I noticed they would be releasing a 1/400 ISS and I was wondering if there was any indication on when exactly this would be released? Editor's note: Threads merged. |
GoesTo11 | The three stage 1:400 ISS models are listed in Dragon's 2012-13 catalog... but the recently announced 1:72 Apollo 16 set (June) and 1:400 Discovery/crawler(?) are nowhere to be found, so your guess is as good as anyone's. |
rmacd | Hope they release a 1/400 shuttle that attaches to the ISS. |

It would collapse under its own weight at 1/72. The LEGO ISS that Don Petitt has pulled out for display once in awhile shows how delicate the thing can be and I don't recall ever seeing a NASA display ISS larger than 1/100. Doing it in 1/144 barely pushes what is possible for a commercially available product.Intermountain Railway was doing ISS kits in phases. So you could get the whole thing or stages of it. Of course those kits are long gone today as I recall. If somebody wants to build their own, Revell of Germany is reissuing its kit of the ISS once again this year. It just needs some modifications to take off some of the stuff that wasn't built onto the station (such as the Russian solar array tower on top of the Zvezda/Zarya complex). |

BMckay | How big will this be in inches? |
GoesTo11 | I'm looking forward to these, but...I'll be interested to see how (or if) Dragon addresses the problem that seems to plague every ISS model I've seen: "Sagging" solar arrays. I'd hate to have to jury-rig extra support struts for them. |
